Security (... & lies)
There is less clarity regarding security than in any other area of information technology. In his book "secrets & lies", Bruce Schneier, one of the founding fathers of modern cryptography, described a fundamental misunderstanding that is encouraged by widespread (and costly) advertising: this is that security consists of one piece of hardware or software that can simply be bought. Bruce Schneier showed that only one thing is sure to happen - once security barriers have been set up, they will be penetrated. And it is only then that we understand what really creates security: a clearly defined organizational process that is also a living reality, for the purpose of identifying dangers and warding them off.
This is why we view active organizational consulting as an essential element of our day-to-day work with our clients. In this regard, ASP One sees itself not merely as an IT service enterprise but also as a firm of consultants with expertise that goes far beyond producing security on the basis of system technology alone.
